About Lehman & Weller .... kindred konnections
Please sign in to see more.
Greetings

Leaving their homeland village of Lehrensteinsfeld (coat of arms above) Neckarkreis Wuerttemberg Germany, Jacob Friederich Lehmann and Johann Gottfried Weller, together with their respective wife and children, set sail from Liverpool England aboard the maiden voyage of the Montmorency arriving into Launceston Tasmania Australia on 29 June 1855.

Initially the Lehman(n) family lived in Longford and the Weller family in the Port Sorell area. Jacob's second son Gottlieb Frederich (Frederick) was born in Longford.

In 1860 the Lehman family moved to Sassafras nearby the village of Wesleyvale where the Weller family now lived. On 28 December 1882 Frederick Lehman and Jacob Weller's fifth daughter, Elizabeth Caroline, married at Latrobe a larger town in that region. They settled in the aptly named village of Kindred Tasmania.

Our brave forebears had set about to establish their dynasties and so it is that we can thank them for our life in this lucky country of Australia! The roots were planted and the tree continues to grow, sprouting ever more branches and leaves along the way.

This work in progress would appreciate your input so if you have photos and / or information (both historical and / or recent) to share, please email me.
Let me know if would also like to link from your listing to your own home page / web site and / or provide an email address so other family members may connect with you.

I have included the name (only) of those living, but if you would prefer that your name is not included this can be accommodated.

In the Links section you may also explore other web sites particular to our kin's history.

I would like to thank Beverley Lehman, (William) John Lehman's wife, for kindling my interest in this fascinating hobby. Without Bev's extensive research evolving over many years we would not be reading the information contained at this site.

Enjoy
